About Our Founder
Curiosity-Driven. Purpose-Fueled. Maryland-Grown.
Hi, I’m Fetima —
A lifelong nature nerd, Marine Corps Veteran, Project Opportunity pitch winner… and mom to one very curious little boy.
As a kid, I was the one memorizing bird facts for fun, sketching flowers in the margins of my school notebooks, and spending hours outdoors wondering how and why the world worked the way it did. I wasn’t just interested in nature — I was completely enchanted by it.
That curiosity never went away.
Years later, while working in the federal government with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), I found myself surrounded by biodiversity again — but this time, with a new lens: I saw how fragile it all was, and how few resources really existed to teach young kids about the wonder of the world right outside their door.
So, I created Doxara.
It’s a passion project turned purpose-driven business — full of colorful illustrations, educational adventures, and locally rooted tools that help kids (and the adults who love them) connect with nature in joyful, lasting ways.
We're starting with Maryland — its state symbols, its native wildlife, and all the little creatures, plants, and places that make this state magical.
Because I believe kids shouldn’t have to grow out of wonder.
They should grow with it.
Welcome to Doxara.
Let’s explore together.
